During a late night run to target, I couldn’t help but stop by the makeup section. There was a huge section filled with Real Techniques brushes, and I couldn’t help but get excited. It’s about time that great quality makeup brushes are available at your neighborhood drugstore for an affordable cost.
When I saw the Brush Cleansing Palette, I didn’t think twice about grabbing it. I thought that if the quality is anywhere near that of their makeup brushes, this will be my favorite new beauty tool. Let me just say, it exceeded my expectations.
The selling factor for me was the rubber material it’s made out of. It’s easy to keep clean, which is very important since I have acne-prone skin. I didn’t notice the handle until I took it out of the package, but that made it very easy to hold. The grooves in the palette were really effective at getting the brushes clean. I used the larger groves for face brushes and the smaller grooves for eyeshadow brushes.
The palette came with two sample packets of Real Techniques Brush Cleansing gel. I used one packet to clean all of my makeup brushes. I followed the instructions and applied the gel to my brushes, and then rubbed them on the tool. The method I used was: apply gel to brush, rub brush on tool, rinse off tool, then repeat. After about 2-3 repeats, the foam from the gel was white and the brush looked good as new.
The Brush cleansing palette is definitely a game changer for me. I really needed a tool that would simplify makeup brush cleansing. I plan to clean my makeup brushes at least twice a week, and hopefully see an improvement in my skin.
